In association with Paralympic Swimming Federation of India (PSFI), Paralympic Swimming Association of Tamilnadu is going to conduct 12th National Paralympic Swimming and Water Polo Competition (Ripples - Chennai 2012) in Chennai in the month of December, 2012.
Details of Ripples:
Name of the event: 12th National Paralympic Swimming and Water Polo Competition - Ripples - Chennai 2012 (to be conducted by Paralympic Swimming Association of Tamilandu in association with Paralympic Swimming Federation of India)
Venue: SDAT Aquatic Complex, Chennai (Sports Development Authority of Tamilnadu has kindly accorded their permission to conduct the event at Velachery Aquatic Complex)
Accommodation for the Participants: IIT, Madras
Accommodation for the Participants: IIT, Madras
Dates: 6th to 9th Dec.'12 (4 days)
Total No of people expected: Apprx. 500 from across India (It's inclusive of participants, attendants, coaches and other officials)
Actual participants may be around 300
Age Groups:
Seniors (Men & Women) - 19 years and above
Juniors (Men & Women) - 15 to 18+ years
Sub Juniors (Men & Women) - Below 15 years
Disability types: Locomotion impaired (All physical challenges like polio, amputees, cerebral palsy without mental disorders, etc) and visually challenged (partially and fully). And people with down syndrome also can participate in this event.
